Dark Energy Stuns Universe

I was eager to hear this script for the first time, Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:00. Monologues about black women and astrophysics. It was directed by Talvin Wilks and performed by Stephanie Berry. Awesome to see this piece come to life with such skilled pros!

Chasing Heaven

The Chasing Heaven reading went great. A terrific cast, directed by George Ferencz, brought life to this script. An incredible experience to hear your words for the first time spoken by others in public. Moving and wonderful. Thanks to George and the cast.

Monongahela Rising

I was lucky enough to have this song cycle done twice within a few days. Both versions were excellent, and both were unique. It's strange how your words (and the composer's music) can bring out different things in different artistic teams. A gift to hear both interpretations.

Chasing Heaven - Part II

Thanks so much to everyone who attended the four performances of Chasing Heaven, or who sent good thoughts, or who silently wished us well! It was a very successful run.  The team that was assembled to put this show together was amazing, and I hope we all work together again.  I am calling the troupe MiddleMaddle Ensemble—check this website for more news on that.  MiddleMaddle Ensemble has been approved to work with Fractured Atlas as a fiscal conduit—more on that soon too! We’ll be able to bug you for contributions!  I am rewriting the play based on what I learned from this run, and continuing to submit it to other venues.

Chasing Heaven - Part III

Chasing Heaven was accepted to the New York International Fringe Festival!

Wonderful experience. Our play's theme of the troubling legacy of a "folk musical" coincided with the real life re-imagining of Porgy and Bess on Broadway, so we got some national press.
